Made in Uganda for Uganda

Green Hydrogen Fertiliser Company (GHFC) is a leading producer of high-quality and reliable fertilisers in Uganda. We aim to empower local farmers, enhance food security and foster sustainable agriculture.

The project will produce approximately 200,000 tons of fertiliser per year. The green hydrogen fertiliser facility will leverage the country’s abundant renewable energy resources.

Sustainability

Our Business

We are building a state-of-the-art facility, established through a joint development agreement with the Government of Uganda. The facility will be powered by 100 MW of renewable energy.

Our innovative approach will not only support local agriculture but it will also reduce reliance on imported fertilisers and will cut greenhouse gas emissions significantly.

How Green Fertiliser is made

This innovative process begins by using renewable energy, such as hydropower, to split water into hydrogen and oxygen through electrolysis. The hydrogen is then combined with nitrogen from the air using the Haber-Bosch process to produce ammonia, which is subsequently processed into green fertiliser through the addition of natural nutrient fillers.
